”Musa mihi memora”. Myth and Carmen

Summary/Abstract: The research of the great poetic creation from the Greek-Roman Antiquity is incomplete, if not flawed, without the study of the origins, both in what the legacy of ideas is concerned and the first major form of manifestation embodied by the epic. Talking about the status, the forms and the primary functions of epic poetry, we found it necessary to illustrate the relation of poetry to the sacred, especially to the myth. The perspectives embedded in the relationship between form and substance require a study of the epic poem and memory.
