Summary/Abstract: This essay presents spiritual accompaniment as seen in the context of selected kinds of practice of the Roman Catholic Church in the Czech Republic. The paper puts this view into the context of theoretical findings in the field of spiritual accompaniment and defines the main characteristics of the field, pointing out the debatable points or diverse approaches to it.
