Effectiveness of labor market policy – theoretical and practical aspects

Summary/Abstract: The goal of the elaboration is the presentation of the concept of efficiency in the context of an active labor market policy. The overview of theoretical approaches of this efficiency is presented in the first part of the article. In the second part we characterize the main measures of the effectiveness of programs relating to labor market policy. Finally, in the third part there is an attempt of illustration of empirical aspects of measuring the effectiveness of public employment services in Poland. The time period covers the analysis adopted in the empirical part, the years 2007-2013, in which the effectiveness of active labor market policies in Poland was measured. The conclusions from the conducted analyzes are contained in the last part of the study.
