Summary/Abstract: Companies providing public transport services often operate in the form of companies wholly owned by the municipality. Market regulations and the principles of financing public transport assure them covering the cost of transport services carried out under long-term contracts with local government units. The article pointed out the dangers of not considering company value factors in decision-making processes taking place in these enterprises. Focusing only on development, without taking into account profitability and risk factors can lead to a crisis of local government finance (business owners). This situation can be prevented only by introduction efficiency criteria in line with the concept of enterprise value management in the strategy of sustainable transport. This way the balance of the needs of all stakeholders can be achieved.
