Summary/Abstract: The personality and creative live of Boris Karadzhov (Karadjea) are not well known to Bulgarian art critics while his artistic heritage is not studied sufficiently since his works are mainly in Romanian galleries, museums and private collections. The text presents the recently acquired by the fund of the Balchik Historical Museum personal archive of the famous Romanian sculptor of Bulgarian descent Boris Karadjea - personal documents, photographs, and catalogues from his exhibitions. Gratuitously donation to the museum by the artist’s daughter Joanna-Raina Borisova Karadzhova they shed light on his life and work. He has actively worked during the 20-50s of the 20th century and formed his aesthetic views mainly under the influence of classical examples of European and Romanian culture. Yielding this experience to his inner sense he created many examples of easel and monumental works. Even though Karadjea’s most productive years passed in Romania he never broke off his ties with Bulgaria and his homeland -Balchik. This is proven by the images of the Dobrudzha women and fishermen from Balchik as well as the images from our heroic past.
