Bibliophile Passions of Izabela Lubomirska nee Czartoryska

Summary/Abstract: The article is a presentation of the artistic patronage of the duchess, the wife of Stanisław Lubomirski, with special emphasis on her achievements in creating a library in the Łańcut Castle and the remodeling of the residence. Thanks to her bibliophile interests, the library became an integral part of the duchess’ patronage. Increasing the library collection fourfold and her passion in completing the collection, organizing a music library etc. prove that she was one of the very few laudable bibliophile women and a creator of a library with a wide thematic and genological profile.
