Summary/Abstract: The process of Arabic language standardisation was developed on bases of four corpuses, namely: the Qur’an, pre-Islamic poetry, Bedouin vernacular and the Hadith of Allah’s Messenger s.w.s. In this article we attempt to present the role of the Hadith of the Messenger s.w.s. in the process of standardisation of Arabic language, as well as the manner in which the Hadith was used in the process of codification of Arabic language by the first Arabic linguists.
