Summary/Abstract: This article explores some particularities that connect the philosophies of Leibniz and Lucian Blaga. Despite the centuries between these two great thinkers, the monad, as the article displays, is related with the Blaga’s concept of divine differential. Although there are many similarities concerning the monads and the divine differentials, the study will also unfold important differences, as it is the differentials competition rule. This later feature reveals another historical genealogy that makes Blaga’s philosophy tied with Charles Darwin’s concept of competition.
