Summary/Abstract: Even a cursory analysis of the preserved materials regarding war graves organized in the district of Piotrkow in the years 1914–1939 shows researchers that this is an extremely complex issue. This article is only a small outline of the subject dedicated to the process of merging cemeteries of the first world war. The Cemetery in the town of Borowa is an example of an extremely complex process, which, up-on completion, will end with a final merging of burial grounds spread across the county of Piotrkow. Due to actions taken up until the year 1939, the remains of fallen soldiers whose bodies had been buried before, were moved to the town of Borowa from smaller cemeteries in Kuznica, Augustynow, Chynow, Gomulin, Kamiensk, Rogowiec and Trzepnica. It is estimated that currently there are around 2500 fallen soldiers buried in this cemetery.
