Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to study the real conditions of coming into effect of the Agreement on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between the EU and Ukraine (DCFTA) and future prospects from its implementation for Ukrainian enterprises. The current state of trade relations between the EU and Ukraine is analyzed. The main obstacles to the entry of Ukrainian SMEs into the EU market are determined. A conclusion is drawn that the current trade preferences have not given the desired effect, and the readiness of Ukrainian companies to supply the EU turned out to be low. The ability to integrate Ukrainian enterprises into global value chains (GVC) and the development of import substitution in the national economy are identified and proved to be prospects of implementing the DCFTA.
