Summary/Abstract: The marginalization of entire segments of the social structure creates the ground for the emergence of a new subclass. The division into winners and losers, the better and the worse perpetuates itself over time. Behaviors of both groups are often determined by self-propelling mechanisms. Those who have succeeded further increase their profits (e.g., because they have learnt how to achieve success), while losers accelerate their marginalization by being passive. This leads to the transmission of poverty and social status. In Poland, the material, economic, educational or ethnic exclusion of large groups of the population has a particular determinant, namely political exclusion: vetting.
