The title, jurisdiction and order in the diptychs of the Orthodox Diocese of Transylvania and its hierarchs since the pastoring of Dionysius Novacovici until the vicariate of Andrei Şaguna (1761-1848)

Summary/Abstract: The study presents in detail two issues, little or not at all discussed in Romanian historiography:the offi cial title of the hierarchy and of the Episcopal institution in Transylvania during the timebetween the installation of Dionysius Novacovici (4 September 1761) and the appointment of AndreiSaguna as the orthodox hierarch of Transylvania (5 February 1848); and also the extension ofjurisdiction and the order in the diptychs of the Orthodox Diocese of Transylvania in the AustrianEmpire between 1783 and the Revolution of 1848.
