Summary/Abstract: The Hebrew and the Greek music influenced the Christian music in the primary Church. In ancient Greece, music had a great importance; Platon named it “moral law”. From the Greek music, especially the hymns had a great influence in the early Christian music. St. Basil the Great and St. John Chrysostom wrote about the benevolent influence that the religious music have in the human soul. St. Paul the Apostle thinks that the religious music has the some importance as the prayer. Diodor from Tars believes that religious music can be used as a spiritual weapon in the unseen war against the evil angels. Fathers of the Church wrote about the great importance of the religious music in the life of the Christians.
