Summary/Abstract: Generally, we do not read a book without looking at the aspects (images, elements and titles) on it. We do not, however, take such aspects seriously into considerations. Yet, there exist a lot of aspects worth examining and questioning. These aspects are very important in value to grasp, interpret and examine the text itself. Each work of art includes a set of codes in terms of its style of reading: mostly, it defines how and in what way it is to be read through such special aspects. A book cannot be served without a title or cover. As for a novel, the aspects on it necessitate close analysis in order to understand, interpret, and thus, examine it truly. Gérard Genette offers to analyze these aspects in two basic categories as peritexte and epitexte under the title of paratextuality. Paratextuality has an important function in order to make consistent signification and interpretation of the linguistic, visual, structural, semantic, communicative and cultural context. The aim of this study is to analyze the features of paratextuality of Anna Gavalda’s novel by the author and/or the publisher, Je l’aimais/ Someone I Loved, both in French and Turkish book versions comparatively.
