Summary/Abstract: The philosophical debate whether the glass is half-full or half-empty usually finds the proper answer in our individual interpretation of reality. Thus, from an alcoholic’s perspective, the glass is oftentimes half-filled (preferably with wine, of course, with subjective variations from case to case). However, for the various doctors dealing with such patients, the glass appears to be half-emptied. For neurologists at least, toxic neuropathy is a very common and serious pathology that finds addressability among these patients. The following purports to be a glimpse, from the neurological point of view, at the half-empty glass. pp. 100–102
