Summary/Abstract: The Citizenship of Family in the Light of Saint John Paul II’s doctrine. Faced with the claim of the different family “models” to be accepted in society, it is necessary to clarify that the family – founded on marriage, on the union of a man and woman – builds up society, and forms its very basis, as its foundation and its soul. The thoughts and teachings of St. John Paul II help us understand that true love unites persons and generates a promise which brings unity and stability to our life. The gift of the Holy Spirit, received by spouses in Christian matrimony, belongs to this “logic of the overflowing”, of self-communication.
