A corpus study on metatext. Homographic language units

Summary/Abstract: The starting point in the paper presented here is the observation that there is an inefficient description of homographic units in multilingual lexicography, especially of those units that belong to the metatextual lexis layer. The author presents the results of the distinction between homographemes based on the example of two particles of the Polish word form wszakże, of which one belongs to the justifying particles (including {przecież, przecie, bowiem, albowiem,} toż and wszak), and the second to concessive particles (including {jednak, jednakże, jednakowoż} and {wszelako}). After delimitating their usages the author, using bilingual parallel corpora, especially a Polish-Bulgarian-Russian corpus that is being created as a part of Clarin, searches for counterparts for both particles in the Bulgarian language. As a result, a proposal is provided for a comparative dictionary description of the examined units.
