About the Future of a Tradition

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this text is to discuss the critical value of the questions raised by some critics of the History of Philosophy as academic discipline today: do we need it? Are historical and philosophical ideas of the past praiseworthy, or they are just a collection of useless ideas of „dead authors“? Do we need at all the knowledge of our Philosophical past? This and some other issues are discussed in connection with the main problem of the status and value of the Philosophy itself.
