Summary/Abstract: Nationally renowned historian, but especially appreciated in the province, I. D. Suciu had always concerned himself with the scientific research of Banat’s historical past. The family fund of I. D. Suciu, from DJTAN, also includes a folder which contains a list of manuscripts donated by the historian himself to the Romanian Academy Library. This list only mentions manuscripts relevant for the history of Banat. These works were donated before the historian’s attempt to flee Romania during its communist regime. Most probably, they were handed to this cultural institution in the summer of 1948. Until new research should suggest otherwise, we are inclined to believe that the series of manuscripts was donated to the Romanian Academy Library for political reasons.
