Summary/Abstract: Stur has entered the history of Slovak journalism as founder and publisher of the first Slovak political newspaper – Slovenskje národňje noviňi with its literary supplement Orol tatránski. The role of the mentioned newspapers – defined in Ohlas and also in the pages itself – is education, training, national awakening of Slovak people and connection of two main confessions – Protestants and Catholics based on the new codified Slovak language standard. An important tool in the realization of this intention were leading articles of the newspaper. Therefore the author of the study draws attention to it quantity, thematic orientation also selected ideas from them.
