Summary/Abstract: In her study the author focused on the activity of Jozef Miroslav Hurban as a publicist, editor and publisher in the context of the journal Slovenske pohlady that he published during the years 1846–1847 and 1851–1852. The study is a reflection on the way of Jozef Miloslav Hurban's thinking as found on pages of Slovenske pohlady in times of national awakening of Slovaks and during the period when the intelligence around Stur was active.
