Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the semantic and functional peculiarities of the accusative in the modern Komi language. The main attention is paid to description of the functions having alternative means of expression. The author supposes that in the course of the grammatical system development reduction of non-patientive functions of the accusative is going on.
