Summary/Abstract: The author has examined the political and diplomatic circumstances of the attempts to remove the Archbishop of Vrhbosna, Josip Stadler, from Sarajevo between 1900 and 1913. He has established that the basic reason for those attempts was Stadler's opposition to Hungarian plans to put Bosnia and Hercegovina into the Hungarian half of the Monarchy.
