Summary/Abstract: The text reflects the preliminary results from the processing of the part of ceramic fi ndings by the archaeological excavations at Shishmanovo kale – fortified settlement from late antiquity, near Samokov. It is a small part of the overall number and contains luxury ceramic vessels by a two major types –covered by red and grey or black slip. The red slipped group, (№ 1-11) contains middle in size bowls with semi-spherical shape, bowls with sloping walls and conical cups with one and three handles, dated by late III-IV c. to V c. A.D. Тhe forms are known by other places in late antiquity dioceses Thracia and Dacia too. The second type, (№ 12-32) is ceramics covered by grey or black slip, and contains small and middle in size bowls, dishes and cups, spherical, semi-spherical, and with sloped walls. Some vessels are with very good quality and they are known like MACEDONIAN „T. S. GRISE”, like the bowls or the dish decorated with stamped ornaments on the floor and cuttings on the rim (№ 24). Date of these vessels is from same period like the others, IV-V c. A.D. Analysis of the stamped motif decorations and their compares with materials by other archaeological sites in this region, show differences by the production from biggest industrial centers on the south like – Saloniki, Stobi and Pautalia. On this basis we can offer the guess of their deriving by local industry center in region and creation of local group in this ceramics type.
