Summary/Abstract: The first task of the Church is the proclamation of the Gospel to the whole world. For the Gospel to reach people's hearts and be accepted by them they need to be rightly prepared. Before Vatican II pre-evangelization wasn’t considered an integral part of the mission of the Church. It was described as a pre-kerygmatic phase preparing people for an effective sowing of the Gospel. Although after Vatican II, the term “pre-evangelization” was put in the background, it is not completely absent in theology. Notice its role in inspiring people to reflect on their existence, desires and needs, as well as the surrounding reality. In modern times, preparation for the transfer of the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ must take into account the ideological and cultural, as well as the intellectual, ethical and aesthetic dimension of human existence. Recipients of such conducted pre-evangelization can then see that the human being is for himself a question that can fully be answered only in the light of the Gospel.
