Summary/Abstract: Lusatian materials make up an interesting item in the collections of Oskar Kolberg. They consist of three segments. The first of them comprises translations, entries and notes from the set "Pjesnički hornych a delnych Łužiskich Serbow" by Jan Arnošt Smoler, mainly relating to wedding ceremonies and songs. The second one includes several manuscripts by the Slavist, Andrzej Kucharski, whereas the last one contains Kolberg’s notes – a glossary of several dozen of words, and bibliographic records. Lusatian materials preserved in the collections of Kolberg, the creator of "The People", have high historical value. They show his great respect for the traditions and folklore of this Slavic group. Kolberg was aware of the relationship between Slavic and Lusatian folk music and folklore.
