Summary/Abstract: This article aims to show the characteristics of native folklore: the music, dance, folk art of Kozlovice and Lhotka near Ondřejník. The richness of the sources of folk culture of this area manifests in the form of statues, figurines, pipes and paintings in the collections of the artifacts by amateur artists. Folk music themes are a source of inspiration for many native composers. Nowadays, growing interest of the inhabitants in tradition and folk culture may be observed. More and more often they turn to ancient sources of traditions, back to the eighteenth century. Both teachers and parents care about their children’s active participation in dance, instrumental or singing classes. Being inspired by folklore is characteristic also of the inhabitants of the neighboring areas, wherein many folk groups are active, for example, Hurčánek Palkovice, Frenštát near Radhošt Sedmikvítek, Radhošť Trojanowice. The musical folklore of the region neighbouring Kozlovice and Lhotka near Ondřejník experiences a renaissance. The photographs of the bands presented in the article, which illustrate the research material, come from a private collection of the author of the article.
