Summary/Abstract: Matthäus Passion represents the greatest axiological creation of Johann Sebastian Bach, being one of the genre vocal-symphonic works amongst those addressing the theme of the Passions of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The work has two major sections and presents a string of considerable chorales, especially from the point of view of the ethos they promote at certain moments of the work: the key-moments, the most important moments from a theological standpoint.
