The impact of Bystrzyca Valley Landscape Park creation on spatial development

Summary/Abstract: The main aim of research was to determine a relationship between the creation of the “Bystrzyca Valley” Landscape Park and the spatial development of municipalities Kąty Wrocławskie and Mietków. For this purpose, an analysis of the development of built-up areas to the year 1998/2001 and in the period of the park existence from 1998/2001 to 2012 was done. There were also analyzed existing spatial policies of municipalities for areas identified for investment. The periods of development of building areas were presented in 49 graphical diagrams created on the basis of carthographic and planning documents. There were also calculated the surface of building areas in analyzed periods of time. The research showed that the most areas of building were formed before the creation of the park, while the building areas in the later period and areas planned to invest were mostly locatedoutside the park, although in a few cases, significant parts of the building were created within the park.
