Attempt of a Synthesis: Issues Surrounding the Edition of a Volume by Jenõ Dsida

Summary/Abstract: The first collected edition of Hungarian poet Jenõ Dsida’s works to meet any serious philological demands was published in 1966. This volume was edited by Ferenc Szemlér, who also wrote an introductory study to the collected poems of Dsida, and the bibliography at the end of the volume was compiled by Andor Réthy. This study deals with the statements of Szemlér’s introduction, the structure of the volume of Dsida’s collected works, and the context which surrounded the preparing of thisedition.
