Summary/Abstract: European Council Seminar „New Approaches to History Teaching“ was held in Antalya (Turkey) on 26-30 October, 2008. Representatives from 15 countries (Europe and Turkey) participated in this seminar. For five days historians from various Turkish universities gave lectures and conducted discussions about history teaching both in Turkey and other European countries: from Portugal to the Baltic states. The participants of the seminar were concerned about the new history teaching guidelines, i.e. work with primary sources, visual teaching and visual aids, multi-perspective attitude towards history teaching and its promotion.
