Tarptautinė mokslinė konferencija „Zenonas Ivinskis ir Lietuvos praeities tyrimai“
International Scientific Conference Zenonas Ivinskis and the Researches of Lithuania’s Pas

Summary/Abstract: On May 25, 2008, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of Zenonas Ivinskis, one of the most prominent Lithuanian historians. To commemorate this anniversary, Faculty of Theology, Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), Department of History, Faculty of Humanities (VMU) together with the Lithuanian émigrés institute hosted international scientific conference on October 16-17, 2008 on the premises of the Faculty of Theology. Eminent scientists from Lithuania and Poland participated in the conference which, overall, disclosed Z. Ivinskis’, as VMU graduate and lecturer, moral authority among VMU community; many presentations concentrated on the aspects of his scientific and educational activities as well as his influence on historians of Catholic orientation, i.e. B. Dundulis, A. Kučinskas, A. Šapoka, A. Vasiliauskas, J. Matusas and J. Stakauskas. Z. Ivinskis’ merits as one of the first researchers and evaluators of the relations between the Republic of Lithuania and the USSR were also emphasized.
