Summary/Abstract: The review of Krystyna Duniec’s Ciało w teatrze. Perspektywa antropologiczna (Body on Stage –the Anthropological Perspective, Warsaw 2012). The book is an attempt to describe the function and meaning of the body on contemporary stages. Analyses of individual productions lead to a number of important questions about the role of the body on stage as well as about the definition of the theatrical event. Duniec connects these themes with the topic of identity and the ways artists use to (de)construct their own image. The reviewer points out that the book consists of two parts with two different approaches to the discussed topics: the first, research part is meant to be tested in the second part presenting a number of interviews. The reviewer questions the choice of the interviewees.
