Summary/Abstract: Professional activity is nowadays, in most areas, dependent on the PC and word processing software are among the most used. They facilitate the writing of scholar papers, master and doctoral dissertations. The typing abilities of young people evolve every day (unlike their handwriting skills); not so commendable is though the degree in which they abide by the technical or grammar rules, most of them considering it normal to write without diacritical marks or inverted commas for quotations. Considering all that, we created the present material not as a course wishing to cover all issues, but as a selective guide, helpful in understanding some of the most important and often ignored aspects of word processing.
