Summary/Abstract: Founded back in the year 2000 within ANIMA (Association for Culture of Peace and Non-Violence), ŽINEC has been working toward gender democratization of the society and empowerment of women in Montenegro. Its main projects include women's/gender studies program, women's publishing project that includes publishing of an informative newsletter, a research project attemting to analyse the past and current status of women in Montenegro, and finally INDOK, an information documentation section of ŽINEC that concentrates on developing women's archives and database.
