How Lithuanian Voters Decide: Reasons Behind the Party Choice

Summary/Abstract: Even though there have already been four independent parliamentary elections held in Lithuania, we can hardly boast of the abundance of electoral studies. The majority of works in this field fail to go beyond the quest for the social basis of the electorate. It means that only very few of these studies are based on any theoretical foundation. They simply are the attempts to show the social-demographic differences between the supporters of various parties. The problem of such works is, as it will be demonstrated below, that these differences are quite vague, changeable, and far from informative.
