Summary/Abstract: The modern man constantly returns to certain points of reference, be them real or fabricated, in his attempt to deal with the world he lives in, a world which he comperhends and controls ever less. Such points of referencedo not stay unchanged, though. The modern man’s failure to perceive this shift turns him into a Sisyphus who is more wretched than the one long since outdated.
