Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the connection between the existence of a writer during the totalitarianism regime in Romania and his opera, looking for the interest in establishing the place of the writer George Balaita in the Romanian Literature. In a period when the ideology and poorness reined the cultural life and the literary scene, it is difficult to talk about a natural and normal rise and evolution of an artist, especially, for those who lived in a provincial area, far away from the “cultural center”- Bucharest. Using the answer Balaita gave during his life in lots of interviews, searching in archive and looking for explanation in his books, we tried to reconfigure the trajectory of the professional life of the author of “The World in Two Days”.
