Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims at illustrating the Romanian-Danish cultural relations starting with the first translation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet into Romanian, continuing with its echoes in the press and the image of Denmark in our old Romanian textbooks. It also tracks Hans Christian Andersen, violonist Christian Kellermann, romanist Kristoffer Nyrop visits to Romania. The paper illustrates the Romanian translations of some prose fragments of the writer Karin Mikaelis, which was followed by a visit she took in Romania and the travel notes to the North signed by Maica Smara-Gheorghiu. Last but not least, the paper ends by reviewing some other sporadic intercultural contacts.
