Summary/Abstract: The article describes some of the contemporary readings of two literary diaries written and published during exile by Romanian writers Monica Lovinescu and Virgil Ierunca, focusing on the most appealing features of these texts and their literary value. The author underlines the set of features that individualize these writings, arguing that, among other elements, there is an obvious process of morphing autobiography and factual history into fiction, as the writers’ subjectivity rules over wide portions of the texts.
