Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the linguistic profile of the chromatic term roz which is important in order to understand the significances of the color and the way in which they have been conveyed in time. Many compounds have been created having the term roz as head, the second element of the compound designating an object, a plant or a chromatic nuance. The lexical family includes both derivatives made up of native words and Fench borrowings. The symbolism of the term is linked to the cult of the rose.
