AN EPISTLE ON ALTRUISM

Summary/Abstract: If we wonder why to speak of "altruism", the answer must lie in the contemporary nuances of outlooks on the world. These outlooks, along with HUMANISM, in their uneven and diverse ways more or less have a notion of altruism at their core. Human life cannot have meaning for man unless in practice it contains justice, humanity, sociability, communication, the general and particular interests of individuals, dignity, particularity of work and civilisation, religion and culture, politics and human relations, economy and trade, cities and provinces, upbringing and education etc. All these categories are similar all over the world with the usual particularities. Although it sounds sceptical, it is natural to talk of the UNITY OF THE MODERN WORLD.
