Summary/Abstract: As modern society is changing rapidly, education has to adapt to learners’ growing needs for information. It is obvious that the future should be governed by the increasing influence of computers and the Internet. Therefore, the new face of the Web will also forge a change în how people are going to learn by fostering collaborative learning and improving collaborative competencies. This paper will concentrate on some trends în the near future, m-learning, personal learning environments, and on how the envisaged face of the Web, Web 3.0, will have an impact on education în the 21st century.
