Summary/Abstract: The American antimissile shield in Europe or at least the implemention of its first phases has already become reality. The first phase was realised imediately after the announcement of the new missile shield having radar în Turkey and antiballistic missiles on Aegis ships from Mediteranean Sea.The second phase of the shield’s implementation has already been accomplished and in December 18th, 2015, at Deveselu, the antimissile facility was declared operational, undergoing testing until spring 2016.The third phase is underway until 2018, at Redzikovo, Poland. The purpose of the American antimissile shield in Europe is to defend the NATO countries’s territory by combating the short and medium range ballistic missiles coming from the Middle East, especially from Iran.As it has already been stressed, Poland has an important role in setting-up and operationalising the American shield in Europe and the present article will provide more information related to the means used by the Polish authoritiesto defend it.
