Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the question of the meaning and posssibility for including movies into the curriculum of philosophy teaching. The main hypotheses is that the answer to the question depends on the presupossitions of the educator. The author of the article distinguishes three groups of philosophy educators: radical hegelians, moderate hegelians and anti-hegelians (neo-nietscheans and neo-wittgensteinians). The hegelians radically refuse to include movies into philosophical curriculum, moderate hegelians agree with the movies as a possible illustration and thought experiment but do not consider them as equal to philosophical argumentations. Neo-nietszcheans and neo-wittgensteinians do not make hierarchical distinction supposing that both philosophy and cinema are able to meet in the area of creative thought. What are their arguments and new opened possibilities for philosophical education?
