Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted toMaria Konopnicka’s poetry dating from the period 1902-1910. It was the time, starting at her 25th anniversary conjoined with the recognition of her as one of the nation’s bards, when she directs her attention to the Eastern Borderlands. Her anachronic reading of the Borderlands is patronized by Niemcewicz, Pol, Sienkiewicz. The article elaborates also Konopnicka’s post-revolutionary ideological volta.
