Summary/Abstract: This article considers specifics of the role of church and religious organization in life of modern Russian society. It marks the most challenging theoretical and methodological problems faced by the national sociology of religion. Particularly, special attention is paid to the question of theoretical and practical conceptualisation of two structural discipline’s conceptions – religiousness and churchism. Analysis of this problem provides an overview of empirical data on topical and controversial events for multi-religious Russian society like tolerance, liberality, violation of Believers’ feelings.
