Summary/Abstract: This article offers a general overview of the most important events in the religious life of Mordovia in the early 2000s - mid 2010s, on which basis it is possible to trace the main trends in the religious situation in the country at the present stage. Particular attention is paid to the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Muslim Ummah (community) in the territory of the Republic of Mordovia as the most influential denominations in the region. These denominations have established close relationships and diverse social partnership with government agencies of Mordovia. The author shows that the main problems of religious life of the Republic of Mordovia are: attempts to spread Wahhabism in the republic, as well as the rivalry of individual spiritual administrations of Muslims. However, in general, ethno-confessional situation in the Republic of Mordovia in early 2000s - mid 2010s, has been characterized as stability.
