Summary/Abstract: An introduction in clothing art, defined as a cultural dimension, demanding the sketch of the epoch’s outline. The contemporary idea analyses, in the context of the 20th century, the space in which the artistic phenomenon developed, determined by social and political factors. If the references of history are represented by the decades of vanguard, with the lab of the 70s and the sudden changes at the end of the century, the artist’s motivations, sustained by axiological transformations, inaugurate the beginning of the millenium from the perspectives of a new sensibility and humanism. The argument, according to which the history of art can operate in the history of society and politics and mutually, given the humanization of the social corpus and the philosophy of the political factor, creating useful mechanisms to re-balance reality, is associated with the connection between high culture and sub-cultures influencing the art of clothing, the interdisciplinary experiments and conceptions. The interferences, formed especially in inaugurations, provide creation with opportunities, regardless of their average expression, thus also in the context of fashion.
