Summary/Abstract: The issues taken in the paper are rooted in culture stream in management. An important issue is to show the paradoxical nature of organizational culture in terms of dichotomous views on it. The paper consists of three parts concerning respectively: (1) different views of researchers in the cultural stream in management; (2) antinomian views on: a) cultural diagnosis in terms of formal vs. informal components; b) revolutionary vs. evolutionary organizational change; c) strong vs. weak organizational cultures’ type; and (3) the results of the research in analyzed area. The overarching key finding of the profound considerations encompassed in the paper is that the organization needs to balance between cultural dichotomies; as a condition of development. The paper is a result of literature studies and author’s research experience connected with participating in projects maintained in culture optics.
